Feather Down
Options & pricesDiscover Wallis, at an altitude of 1500 m, in the beautiful Lötschental. The region exudes a charm all of its own, with wooden houses blackened by the sun and the and the typical Wallis granaries. The farm, which was certified organic in 2004 as the first farm in the Lötschental, consists of a single-family house with an outbuilding where Karin and Dani Ritler raise sheep here. The rustic furnished tents are located on the farm’s meadow and offer an unforgettable view of the imposing Lötschental mountains.
In Wallis, the best way to explore the surroundings is on foot. A hike to the Wiler will be rewarded with a visit to the leisure centre with mini golf and a playground. There is also a cheese dairy and a cable car there. Cyclists will find ideal options from easy tours to mountain bike trails. The Lötschentaler Höhenweg (UNESCO World Heritage Site) offers guided mountain tours. The World Nature Forum (WNF) in Naters, a worldwide unique centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, with interactive presentations on the theme of the Alps, can be reached within an hour.
Experience the life of a Swiss mountain farmer up close in Wallis. Dani is looking forward to sharing his knowledge of sheep farming with you. The little guests can learn how to treat other living beings with respect. You'll also meet the donkeys called Jakari, Anoki and Arno (the smallest), as well as Alpacas Klobi and Tobi. Purchase delicious organic lamb products from the farm and prepare a delicious meal on your wood-burning stove or on your outdoor barbecue. You will sleep in comfy beds in your cosy tent with a toilet and separate shower.
