The location of Treganhoe for a farm stay holiday is hard to beat, on the Penwith peninsula close to Lands End, the ideal spot for a family holiday in Penzance. It's a quiet location with stunning views. You will be staying with your friendly hosts Ivor, Sue, their son Mark and their daughter Ali, whose family have been farming the land here for the past 100 years. Treganhoe is a livestock and mixed farm that works closely with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. The rest of their animals, the sheep, pigs and goats (new for 2024!), you will find in the paddock close to your canvas hideaway.

Coast to coast

Each morning there's a decision to make - shall we head to a beautiful beach to the north or a beautiful beach to the south? Don’t worry, both are less than half an hour's drive away. Evocative Cornish names are close by like Marazion, Sennen Cove and Porthcurno beaches, awaiting you for wild swimming, paddle-boarding, surfing or just sandcastle building. The picture postcard pretty St Ives is close by as are Penzance, the iconic St Michaels Mount and the stunning outdoor Minack Theatre. There couldn't be a better base for a family holiday in Penzance or wider Cornwall.

If walking is your thing then stride across the moors like the cast of Poldark (much of it was filmed nearby) and take in the abandoned tin mines and Neolithic monuments like Lanyon Quoit and Men an Tol. Fine dining and excellent pubs are in abundance, as local food and drink are at the forefront in Cornish cuisine.

What to do at Treganhoe Farm

Since Treganhoe is a working farm, there is always something happening here. Wake up from your comfy beds in the morning with a freshly baked croissant from the honesty shop then give the farmers a hand feeding the sheep, pigs and goats - they love your attention. New arrivals for 2024 are Duke and Hazzard, two cute pygmy goats who can't wait to welcome you to the farm.

You can enjoy the Cornish sunset whilst eating home cooked food from the honesty shop or local produce cooked over your campfire or BBQ, the perfect end to a busy day.

Utterly divine. Exactly what we needed. We usually go wild camping with our own tent so this experience was a welcomed change. The hideaway was insane and super cosy! Me and the family absolutely loved it and we WILL BE BACK! Oh and special shout out to Sue and Ivor, what wonderfully welcoming people.

Hosts were friendly, warm, helpful and so lovely. The farm was absolutely beautiful and clean and tidy, we didn't have children, but lots of things for children to see and do. The tent was FABULOUS! How can we call it camping when we had a luxurious bed and duvet, private hot shower, everything you need to cook and make meals, the honesty shop was a brilliant bonus and we love the 'frozen hotties' to keep the fridge cool, brilliant idea!! We had an afternoon/evening of horrible rain, but we were warm, dry and very toastie. Would recommend treganhoe 1000% it's FABULOUS and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a great host family who made us all feel so welcome and were so engaging with our kids. The lack of electricity and WiFi was a wonderful tonic for us all which even the kids begrudgingly agreed by the end of the trip.

Het uitzicht vanuit de tent kon niet beter, onze jongens hebben zich goed vermaakt met vliegeren vooor naast en achter de tent. Ik zie ze nog voorbij hollen 😂

Wij hebben enorm genoten. Een unieke ervaring op een prachtige locatie, de inrichting van de tenten is ruim, gezellig, alles was je nodig hebt is aanwezig! Er was een probleem met het toilet en onmiddellijk kwam er iemand om het probleem op te lossen! De gerechten die aangeboden worden zijn overheerlijk!

Super gelegen om het uiterste Westen van Cornwall te ontdekken! Prachtige tuinen, kustdorpjes en stranden, Lands End of nog beter Cape Cornwall, Saint Michaels Mount, en te veel om op te noemen, verken de streek! Op de boerderij hartelijk ontvangen door Sue, die elke dag op post is om 's morgens en 's avonds met de kids de dieren bij de tenten te voeren. Ook enkele lekkere gerechten gegeten, vers bereid door Sue en aan de tent geleverd! (Lasagna en Cottage Pie waren heerlijk!) Probeer ook haar sublieme scones! Wij waren al bij verschillende 'boerenbed boerderijen' en deze staat zeker in onze top 3! Het zicht uit onze tent was super!

Exactly what we hoped for. Sue, the host, was the friendliest person you could hope to meet and nothing was ever too much trouble. The aga baked scones were to die for and are delivered still warm to your tent. Location of the site was brilliant for visiting all of western Cornwall. There were no faults with our stay and we would go back tomorrow if we could.

Absolutely fantastic!! Sue made us feel very welcome (as did everyone else but we saw her the most!) She was also great at making sure our kids were included in feeding the animals (as some of the other children were bigger staying there and more confident) We loved the accommodation, atmosphere around the farm and the kids especially loved feeding the animals!!

Treganhoe farm is een geweldige plek om te verblijven in het uiterste puntje van Cornwall! Dicht bij mooie stadjes en geweldige stranden. De boerderij is zelf gelegen op een zeer mooie plek naast een meer, vanuit je tent heb je werkelijk een schitterend uitzicht. Sue is een fantastische gastvrouw, altijd hartelijk en heel leuk met de kinderen. Super verblijf op een zeer speciale plek!

La déconnection totale dans des paysages merveilleux, la gentillesse des fermiers... Seul bémol pour lequel on ne peut rien, le mauvais temps qui rend les séjours dans ces conditions difficiles... (nous avons eu froid, nous avons dû manger systématiquement ailleurs car il s'avère quand même très difficile de faire cuire quoi que ce soit sur le poêle et trop froid pour le barbecue. Les nuits ont été souvent difficiles car nous étions gelées).
