Mount Pleasant Farm

If the farm isn’t enough to keep you occupied, Mount Pleasant is just a half hour from some of Dorset’s most beautiful beaches – Ringstead and Lulworth Cove being two of our guests’ favourites. The market town of Blandford Forum is just 15 minutes away, with lovely villages on the way. If you feel like venturing further afield, the ruins of Corfe and Wardour castles, the Purbeck Heritage Coast and the Cerne Giant by the National Trust are all within 25 miles of the farm. There are walks such as visiting the Jurassic Safari for a stunning view of the coast and cycling possibilities aplenty – just ask Mike or Anna and they’ll point you in the right direction.

What to do at Mount Pleasant

During the day, grab a cuppa and have a chat with Mike about his days growing up on the farm while the kids play around the meadows. There is no set day or time for a farm tour but he is happy to put on a farm walk for those interested in learning more about UK farming and in Dorset. Uniquely, you can also bring your horse to stay with you, with stable accommodation available at the farm too. Breathe in the fresh country air as you take a vigorous walk towards the farm’s nearest hill at Bulbarrow, and breathe in the fantastic view from the tallest point in Dorset. Or you can simply relax by your canvas hideaway and observe the wildlife going by, you may spot a bat or swallow in the evening. Borrow the firepit for toasting marshmallows or round off the day by firing up the outdoor pizza oven on-site and drink in the blissful setting before you retire to your cosy bed, a perfect end to a perfect family holiday.
