Escape to a simpler life with Wendy and Richard

If you’re looking for traditional rustic comfort, you’ll find peace and sanctuary at the end of the no-through road that leads to Moor Farm in Gloucestershire for your next holiday – described by the Independent as the ideal digital detox in 2021. You’ll meet Richard and Wendy and the three generations of the Watts family and hear about their passion for regenerative farming and sustainable cattle, one of many reasons why their farm tour is an absolute must. Your tents are situated by the copse, where you will catch a glimpse of their cattle feeding on the Severn floodplain nearby. Moor Farm is an ideal spot for a family holiday in Gloucestershire.

Close by the Cotswolds and some of England’s loveliest towns

If you’re longing to explore outside the farm, the ancient city of Gloucester city is just five miles away, famous for its iconic cathedral and history that dates back to Roman times, whilst nearby Stroud, near Cirencester in the Cotswolds, was voted England’s Best Place to Live in 2021 in the Sunday Times. If the Cotswolds are your thing, the chances are that your drive home will take you past Jeremy Clarkson’s ‘Diddly Squat’ farm, as well as Bourton-on-the-Water, regularly voted one of England’s prettiest villages near the river Severn.

What to do at Moor Farm

During your holiday in Gloucestershire, you can book a slot to enjoy the indoor swimming pool as an extra when you arrive (the pool is open between 18th April until 27th September 2025). If you want to stay in the pure outdoors then you can build dens or play hide and seek in the copse. As the dusk sets in you can spot wild deer whilst dinner is being prepared on the wood-burning stove with delicious ingredients from the farm’s honesty shop. Pizza night (available most weekends) at Moor Farm in Gloucestershire is a treat with food that should be in a good food guide and homemade cider that you’ll not find in your local supermarket.

We are the Watts family. We live here together and our sons Mathew and Richard help out on the farm. Set at the end of its mile-long private drive lined with beautiful trees, we are excited to share all of this with you.
