Escape to a simpler life with Jayne and Robert

Nestled in the depths of picture-perfect Devon countryside, you will learn everything about organic dairy farming with Jayne and Robert Lammie and their 200 Friesian dairy cows. The farm walk and visits to the milking parlour make this farm a must if you want your family to know more about how food gets from field to fork. With the choice of a 10-person hideaway and 4 x 6-person hideaways (two inclusive of hot tubs), you'll experience panoramic views of the rolling countryside from the middle of your meadow - all in all the ideal setting for a family holiday in Devon.

Quintessential Devon on your doorstep

Want to go barefoot on the beach? Then drive to Exmouth’s famous family beach and feel the soft sand between your toes. At Billingsmoor, you are close to both the North and South coasts with sandy beaches, so plenty of choices for a day at the seaside. There is a riding stable near the farm, which makes horse-riding lessons an inviting prospect. Alternatively, the farm stay means your holiday is just 20 miles from Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Exeter is only a short drive away and offers a wealth of activities for your break including a wonderful cathedral and Exeter Heritage Harbour festival that takes place in June.

What to do at Billingsmoor Farm

The surroundings of this beautiful organic dairy farm encapsulate what a family holiday in Butterliegh & Devon is all about. A magical woodland creates a safe and natural backdrop that will provide youngsters of all ages with hours of entertainment, making dens and letting their imaginations run wild in the glorious fresh air. The cows are milked twice a day - an unmissable experience during your stay here. The oven can be fired up during your stay so you can create the unforgettable pizza of your holiday. When the night draws in, if you’ve booked a hideaway with a hot tub included (2 available, see booking grid below), why not have a good soak and gaze up at the starry sky before calling it a day and retiring to your comfy bed for the night.

We had the most amazing family time in a stunning location. The children loved the cupboard bed and the hot tub. I wish we could have stayed for longer!

It was a wonderful break from our busy day-to-day. The views on the farm are breath-taking, the tents are extremely comfortable and the kids loved playing on the farm and learning about how the cows were milked! We would definitely choose to do this again - thank you!

We have stayed at a Featherdown farm before and Billingsmoor didn't disappoint. This time we had 2 teenagers and a 9 year old who all loved the experience. The countryside was stunning, waking up to a spectacular view. It was peaceful and our children actually enjoyed the break from WiFi.Our hosts were really friendly and welcoming, we ordered a casserole for arrival day (which I'd thoroughly recommend), made good use of the well stocked honesty shop and we found the farm tour interesting and informative. You could tell they are very experienced hosts. It's a great base to explore the local area and then to come back to, relax in the hot tub, enjoy the stars and sleep well on very comfortable beds. It was a brilliant break and one our whole family would repeat.

From the beginning, the hosts were absolutely brilliant. We had the place to ourselves, which was great. The accommodation was amazing, was very different and we loved having no electricity and just getting back to nature. We had the breakfast and BBQ hamper that is offered, they were amazing and helpful as meant we didn’t need to do a massive food shop. The woods were great as was the farm tour. All in all a fantastic place to stay and we are already discussing when we’ll be going back!

We loved our stay on Jayne and Robert’s farm. We stayed with a 3 and 1 year old. The tent is very spacious and accommodated us all very comfortably. The starter package was helpful and we were given sufficient logs and kindling for our stay. We loved sitting in the hot tub in the evening looking out over the valley, our eldest loved the freedom of running around outside our tent and it was really enlightening learning more about dairy farming. We were very lucky with the weather as it was mostly dry, the evenings were a little chillier so we spent them in the hot tub whilst the children slept. I would definitely take an extra blanket or two during the colder months for night time. Once inside and the wood burner is warm, it is very cosy. We made use of the honesty shop and enjoyed breakfast baguettes and croissants. We used the pizza oven and the bbq as well. Jayne and Robert were very much around for any requests we had. Despite my initial concerns of glamping with young children, this worked out so well and we all had the best time. Thank you for having us!

We had a brilliant time staying at Billingsmoor Farm. The views across the valley from our tent were stunning, and we loved the hot tub and the pizza oven. Jayne, Robert and Alex could not have been more friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble. They were wonderful with our toddler - who really loved being on the farm - and happy to answer our many questions about farming. We even saw a calf being born, which was amazing! We would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful location.

Fantastic stay! Our 2 children who loved being on a working farm, seeing the cows and looking after our chickens, who they named Michael and Elsa. The tents are fab! They have everything you need and we enjoyed building the fire each day. I would recommend getting a tent with a hot tub

This was our third Featherdown farm experience and just as lovely a setting as the others, with wonderful views. Jane and Robert were extremely welcoming and made us feel immediately relaxed on our arrival. We enjoyed seeing the cows crossing the field in front of us twice per day for milking and it was great to see them being milked down at the barn. There was a friendly pig and sheep that enjoyed our scraps. Our 'rented' chickens tolerated our children playing with them although sadly they didn't produced any eggs for us this time. The hot tub fire requires dedicated attention to get to temperature but it pays off eventually. It was pretty wet at times during our stay but it always felt cosy in the tents and we all slept well.
