Escape to a simpler life with Loretta and Mark

Formerly known as Feather Down Looe Farm, Dennis family have farmed Gwel Teg in this idyllic part of Cornwall for over 35 years. Their mixed farm hosts sheep who lamb in spring, cattle for beef, two friendly goats who love to say hello, and they also grow barley as well. Your canvas hideaways are on the edge of the farm, overlooking a meadow, the ideal spot for a family holiday in Looe.

The best of Cornwall on your doorstep

You couldn’t be better placed to enjoy a family holiday in Looe, the county where we all want to holiday nowadays. Looe and its beaches and boat trips are a short drive away. Further along the coast is idyllic Fowey with its estuary and harbour. Within easy reach is the Eden Project, nestled in a huge crater with biomes housing the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants and exhibitions, which all serve as a backdrop to their striking gardens, thrilling zip-wire and summer concerts.

What to do at Gwel Teg Farm

The farm welcomes new lambs every spring - you are welcome to help out with the bottle feeding. There is plenty of space on the farm for youngsters to play and you can still keep an eye on them from the comfort of your veranda. There is one hot tub available to hire if you fancy luxuriating with a soak. The honesty shop has more than enough in it for you to cook up a stew on before you retire to your delicious Feather Down beds.

Highlight

Ask the farmer

The farm tour is a must if it’s on offer during your stay, but you don’t have to wait until then. The farmer will be delighted to tell you more about farm life at any time.

Highlight

The farm shop

It’s great for the basics and usually even better for local produce and low food miles. And every Feather Down farm shop operates on an honesty basis.
