Rent bikes and discover the beautiful Ameland. Farmer Douwe will tell you how to get to the beach from the farm. Seen enough beaches? Take a relaxing walk in the woods or play golf. Visit the Maritime Centre, the shell bank, or book a seal tour. Your visit to Ameland is only complete after visiting the lighthouse and eating pancakes at the restaurant under the lighthouse.

What to do on Ameland Farm

Help the farmer feed the sheep and chickens. Learn about the birds and the environment of this island. The children can play to their heart's content on the farm, as there are several play areas, a trampoline and a sand pit. While the children play, you can relax. Smell the sea breeze, pick up some fresh vegetables from the honesty shop and fire up the barbecue. When the children have finished playing, it is time for a cosy evening together at your tent house. Take a shower with a beautiful view over the meadows and get into your comfy bed at the end of the day.

If you plan to come to Ameland by car, the ferry must be booked in advance. If you come without a car (and take the bus or rent a bike on the island), there is no problem. It is possible to rent bikes through the farmer, this can be arranged on the spot or in advance. If you let us know in time, farmer Douwe will make sure that the bikes are ready for you at the jetty in Nes and that your luggage is delivered to the farm.
