Luxury family glamping on working farms

Excellent. Martin and Joby were great hosts. Amazing honesty shop and the best tents we’ve stayed in (done 6 trips to different locations) very clean and well maintained. The alpaca walk is a must and Henry did a great tour of the farm on the walk. The alpacas, cows, horses, cats and goats were a massive plus! All so tame and friendly with no interruption to sleep. Views and camp area were amazing

Our 1st Feather Down stay and we’ll be back! The perfect introduction to camping for the kids, and we loved being “off grid” for a few days. Hours on the huge rope swing and looking at the animals. Beautiful long bike ride on hired bikes. My husband loved the challenge of stove cooking and keeping the tent warm. Very well equipped and helpful tips in the arrival pack. Hannah and Will were brilliant, and had thought of everything after years of hosting- thank you!

Very good and would highly recommend it. Hannah and Will are great hosts and the farm itself is great for children. Their pizza night was great and the pizzas were delicious! The downside of our experience was that not all the animals listed on the site were there when we visited. Also, I highly recommend putting signs up on areas with electric fences. My 4 year old daughter touched an electrical fence whilst admiring a little pony and that was not a great experience for her or for us. There were no signs indicating the electrical fence. Overall we had a great time and would definitely return.

Sunninglye farm is stunning and I instantly felt at home and relaxed when we arrived. Jill is very welcoming and helpful and extremely inclusive of the children. They absolutely loved being involved with caring for the animals! The tent was clean and I loved the little touches like the wonky photos of pigs on the wall. Thank you for having us!

We had a wonderful and very relaxing stay at Sunninglye. This was our third Featherdown holiday and our favourite so far. Gill couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating, despite it being right in the middle of lambing season and being extremely busy with her flock, she checked in on us every day to make sure everything was ok and that we had all that we needed. A couple of items we'd forgotten to bring with us she lent us from the farm which was very kind. The site was so beautiful and there was so much to do and explore on the farm that we actually only left the site for one afternoon out (Scotney Castle) which is very unlike us! Our tent decking had glorious views across the valley so mealtimes were a delight, and we had free roam of all Gill's extensive farmland and woodland. We had a couple of lovely walks through the fields and along the river, spent two afternoons down at the boating lake messing about with the kayaks and rowboat which was brilliant fun (though do bring a change of dry clothes down with you!), collected dead logs from the woodland for our campfire, watched ravens and red kites swooping overhead, and just enjoyed chilling out at the tent reading and whittling and playing games. Bobby the farm dog was a bundle of adorable energy and we looked forward to his daily visits to the tents to say hi to everyone and get his tummy tickled! There was plenty for the kids to do as well with a rustic adventure playground and rope swings which kept them busy for hours, the boating lake, and the chance to feed the lambs, goats, donkeys and horses each morning for no extra charge. Plenty of logs provided daily for the stove, and the shower was nice and hot too. We all loved it - thank you Gill for a brilliant stay!
